“Nurturing Little Minds, Cultivating Bright Futures.”
We follow the governments early years foundation stage (EYFS) framework which sets the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth up to 5 years of age. Our curriculum covers all key areas of the early years foundation stage and is designed to meet the needs of each individual child.
Our guiding principle is to treat every child as an individual. We start to do this from the very first moment you introduce your child to the nursery. With your help we understand their likes, dislikes and forming character and we match them to a key person who will help them to settle in and make the most of their nursery day. Your child’s key person will be your main point of contact with the nursery. They will guide you through such milestones as weaning, toilet training and preparing for the transition to school. A key person helps your child to become familiar with the nursery setting and to feel confident and safe within it.
We keep details records on the development of all children attending the nursery and your child’s is available to be viewed and discussed at any time.
Parent consultations can be arranged with your child’s key person at a time to suit and are an opportunity to discuss your child’s progress on an informal one-to-one basis. We always encourage parents to add details of their child’s experience and progress from outside of the nursery to help keep these development records accurate.
Our online parent portal is available to view and contribute to at all times, this is where your child’s key worker will record your child’s day at the nursery. All parents will also receive feedback at the end of the day outlining what their child has been doing during the day.
Our extra curricular activities include music, dance, cooking, football and external trips where we can go further a field with our 17 seater minibus. We celebrate special events with fun activities like face painting, leavers graduation party and a Christmas party .
Parents evenings are held at least twice a year and are an opportunity for parents to discuss their child’s progress on a formal one-to-one basis.
